02 / From idea to upload
Preparing your
DXF drawing
A few checks before uploading help you get the part you intended. Keep the drawing focused on the geometry you want cut.
01 Draw at full size
Export a DXF at 1:1 in millimetres. Reopen it and measure a known dimension to check the scale.
02 Clean the cut paths
Use closed outlines for the profile and holes. Remove dimensions, notes, duplicate lines and unused geometry.
03 Check small features
Compare hole, slot and overall part sizes with the limits for your chosen material and thickness.
04 Review the preview
After uploading, check the displayed shape and dimensions. Resolve drawing warnings before placing your order.

Ordering after a prototype
If you revise hole positions, dimensions or thickness after a prototype, upload and quote the revised drawing. Check the file and specification again before ordering the next batch.

Can I order just one laser-cut part?
Yes. Upload your DXF and set the quantity to one. You can see the price for your chosen material and thickness before ordering.
Can you quote from a sketch or photograph?
The instant quoting tool needs a DXF containing the cut geometry. If you have a sketch or another file type, contact us to discuss what is needed to prepare a suitable drawing.
How much does a one-off part cost?
The price depends on your drawing, material, thickness, quantity and selected options. Uploading your actual DXF gives you a price for the part you want to make.
Can I order more after trying the first part?
Yes. Review saved quotes and past orders in your account, check the specification and current price, and order again. If the design has changed, upload the revised DXF for a new quote.
What should I do if I need parts by a particular date?
