When to choose acrylic
Acrylic is a non-metal option for signs, display components and decorative panels. Choose clear or coloured sheet to suit the appearance you want. Keep enough material around fixing holes and between cut-outs to avoid fragile sections.

Need a particular acrylic type?
Acrylic is made in different types, including cast and extruded sheet. If your design needs a particular type, brand, clarity or protective film, tell us before ordering so we can check availability.
Hole sizes, part sizes and fit
Our usual cutting tolerance is ±0.2 mm: the finished size can be slightly larger or smaller than the drawing. Larger parts or complex shapes can vary more. If a hole or edge must fit another part precisely, discuss it with us before ordering. The table shows the smallest holes and slots we can cut; a hole for a bolt or pin may need to be larger to give the right fit.

Check the width and height of the whole part, including any tabs sticking out. Check each hole in the preview too. These values match our design guide; your quote confirms the current limits for the selected material and thickness.
Surface finish and cut edges
Clear, black, white and dark grey tinted acrylic are listed in our range. Your quote confirms current availability. The cut edge and sheet face can have different appearances, and lighting changes how clear or tinted material looks. If a visual match matters, contact us before ordering.
Acrylic is cut on a CO₂ laser and does not need deburring. If you need a particular appearance or precise fit, tell us before ordering. Our quality and tolerances guide explains what to check.
Avoid forcing fasteners into close-fitting holes or leaving very narrow connections. Check your assembly method and tell us about any critical feature.
From your file to your part
- Prepare a clean, full-size DXF in millimetres, or a suitable sheet-metal STEP/STP model.
- Choose acrylic, an available thickness and your quantity.
- Check the preview, any warnings, your selected options and the price before ordering.
If your drawing has gaps, duplicate lines or the wrong size, open File Workshop to check the problem and any proposed repair. Then choose Save and continue to quote.
Single parts welcome. The minimum order is £20, and we do not charge VAT because we are not VAT registered.
For stocked material, production is normally 1–2 days. Delivery is next day after dispatch. If we are waiting for material, production takes longer; read the delivery guide and check with us before ordering to a fixed deadline.
Acrylic questions
Will the acrylic edge be deburred?
No. Our acrylic is cut on a CO₂ laser and does not need deburring. Check that fixing holes have enough room for your fasteners and that narrow sections will be strong enough for your use.
What acrylic colours are available?
The listed range includes black, white, clear and dark grey tinted acrylic in 3 mm and 5 mm thicknesses. Your quote confirms available combinations.
Can acrylic be powder coated?
The optional powder coating service is for supported metal parts. Choose the acrylic sheet colour and appearance you want instead.
Can you cut acrylic lettering from a logo?
Yes, if the artwork can be prepared as clear cutting outlines. For cut-out lettering, add bridges to hold any centres you want to keep, such as the middle of an ‘O’. Check small details against the acrylic cutting limits.
